Schindler wins major contract in Riyadh
Ebikon/Riyadh - Schindler has won a major contract in The Avenues – Riyadh. Schindler Olayan, a subsidiary of the Lucerne-based elevator manufacturer, will deliver a total of 293 elevators, escalators, and moving walks for the multi-purpose project in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.
Schindler has landed a major contract in Riyadh. Schindler Olayan, a subsidiary in which the Schinder Group holds a majority stake, is set to deliver a total of 293 elevators, escalators, and moving walks for the multi-purpose project The Avenues – Riyadh, further details of which can be found in a press release issued by Schindler. However, the company has not disclosed the order volume for this contract.
The Avenues – Riyadh is a multi-purpose project covering a total area of 1.8 million square meters. It includes a shopping mall covering an area of around 380,000 square meters and five multi-purpose high-rise buildings to house hotels, apartments and offices. For this project, Schindler will contribute 134 elevators of the Schindler 5500 series, one Schindler 2600 elevator, eight Schindler 9500 moving walks and 150 Schindler 9300 escalators. All systems are connected to the cloud and can be monitored via the Schindler ActionBoard.
Danilo Calabrò, who is responsible for Europe South, Middle East, and Africa on Schindler’s Group Executive Committee, describes The Avenues – Riyadh as a “hugely impressive project that will continue to improve the quality of life for the residents of Riyadh and tourists alike”. He goes on to say that Schindler’s installations will enable visitors “to move quickly and conveniently throughout the complex”.
