RUAG Aerostructures is selling the Machining business unit in Emmen to the newly founded fitINDUSTRY Emmen AG. According to a press release, fitINDUSTRY is expected to take over all 19 employees and all machines at the beginning of September. It will seamlessly continue production at the Emmen site.
RUAG Aerostructures manufactures various metallic parts at the Emmen site. These include control surface structures and payload suspensions. The strength of production in Emmen is the machining of all common aerospace materials from aluminum and titanium to high-quality alloys for larger dimensions, as the company explains in the press release. Thanks to the acquisition by fitINDUSTRY, customers such as Airbus, Boeing, GE Aviation, Pilatus Aircraft and Saab “will continue to benefit from the first-class quality”.
The sale is part of an ongoing strategic realignment of the Aerostructures business unit, RUAG Aerostructures writes. In Emmen, the company will in future concentrate on the areas of composite materials, bonding processes and subassembly of military and civil products in low volumes.
As a supplier of products and semi-finished goods in the industrial sector, fitINDUSTRY’s innovative franchise model enables companies to network locally and use synergies efficiently. Chairman of the Board Albert Duhanaj is aiming to integrate fitINDUSTRY Emmen AG into the existing family of companies. These include Krefatec Solutions AG, Turbal AG, Pamatool AG, Gremotool AG and Formteam AG. All Group companies are centrally managed by Jonschwil SG. New headquarters are scheduled to be opened in Uzwil in 2023.
