LAC2 – Lucerne AI and Cognitive Community hosted another round table event at the AI Hub at Hirschengraben 40 in Lucerne on September 12. On this occasion, the focus was on the use of AI in manufacturing industries, as LAC2 explains in a LinkedIn post. LAC2 intends to apply the insights gained from the round table to future events. The mission of the non-profit association is to «support and assist companies, institutions, and individuals in Central Switzerland by generating value through the application of AI technologies», as stated on its website.

Participants at the round table on September 12 had the option of choosing between two working groups. The first of these focused on the question as to whether AI represents the next industrial revolution or rather simply an evolution. In the second group, participants explained which AI topics are of particular relevance for their own companies. LAC2 secured the services of Patrick Brigger, co-founder of the presentation service getAbstract, to give the introductory presentation, while the guest speaker at the event was the avatar of Ivo Strohhammer from the Smart Infrastructure IT division of Siemens.
