LAC2 AI Hub in Lucerne discusses AI opportunities for banks
Lucerne - The Lucerne AI and Cognitive Community (LAC2) has brought together experts to discuss future-oriented developments in relation to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the banking sector. The latest trends in risk management and nuances of operational management with AI were analyzed.
The topic of AI in the banking industry was on the agenda during the Executive Roundtable held at the AI Hub of LAC2, the non-profit Lucerne-based association for the promotion of AI innovations in Central Switzerland. The event brought together «leading minds» from the industry to discuss future-oriented developments in connection with Artificial Intelligence in the banking sector. According to a press release, the latest trends in AI risk management and nuances of AI governance were analyzed.
Marc Stampfli from NVIDIA, the developer of graphic processors and chipsets for computers, servers and games consoles, gave the keynote speech. The Head of Sales for Switzerland is also responsible for the further development of AI with Deep Learning, Quantum Computing and Metaverse Technologies at the company.
His speech entitled «AI in Finance: Seize the opportunity or risk being left behind» marked the start of «an extremely exciting roundtable discussion», as the press release states. The discussion was moderated by Christophe Makni, member of the LAC2 advisory board, who heads up the Data, Automation and Digital Transformation divisions at Migros Bank.
According to the information, the core topics of the discussion ranged from AI risk management and agility to transparency and traceability of complex AI models, as well as large language models and their use for innovations. Finally, the question concerning the extent to which autonomous agents might revolutionize banking processes was also discussed.
