Kramis honored after reaching 100,000 YouTube subscribers
Altbüron - Kramis has been awarded the Silver Creator Award for hitting 100,000 YouTube subscribers. Two years ago, the rug manufacturer started to create content with information about hand tufting, which is the company’s area of expertise and demand for which had increased during the pandemic.
Kramis has now received the Silver Creator Award for its YouTube channel. With this, the Google subsidiary honors online content creators who have reached the threshold of 100,000 subscribers. As the Lucerne-based rug manufacturer states, its first cell phone video went viral exactly two years ago which «changed our business from the ground up». Since this moment, the company’s videos on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube have reached people all over the world. «Suddenly we became visible - not only to customers, but also as ambassadors for our traditional craft of hand tufting».
As Tim Kramis, who heads up the family company’s marketing operations, explains further, he is particularly proud that Kramis has been able to show how «even a small company without a large marketing budget can get so far with creativity and passion». He adds: «Today, we are regarded as a shining light across our industry worldwide and inspire other crafters - including with digital courses and eBooks to pass on our knowledge».
This all started during the pandemic when all of a sudden «the whole world wanted to produce their own rugs to sell», as Kramis stated back in July 2023. The company fielded inquiries about materials, machines and hand tufting techniques from all over the world. After initial hesitation and «numerous discussions», the family changed their minds and built up a large reach within a short space of time: In fact, at that time the company already had 120,000 followers on Instagram, with more than 50,000 each on YouTube and TikTok.
Today, Kramis sees itself as an inspiration for the fact that even small companies can «achieve great things» if they show a willingness to engage with new forms of media and remain authentic to themselves. As Kramis puts it, the digital space offers opportunities that were previously only available to large corporations: «Professionalism isn’t a pre-requisite», he says, «only courage is!».
