Schlieren/Kriens - Halter AG has become the lead shareholder in the Pilatus Arena in Kriens, which is currently under construction. The arena, which has a capacity of 4,500 spectators, is set to be opened in the fourth quarter of 2025. Halter’s stake amounts to 70 percent, with the remaining 30 percent held by Caranto AG from Lucerne.
Halter AG, the real estate development firm based in Schlieren in the canton of Zurich, has become the lead shareholder of the Pilatus Arena Sports & Events AG (PASE) in Kriens in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, further details of which can be found in a press release. With a stake of 70 percent, Halter is now the majority shareholder, with the remaining 30 percent held by Caranto AG, the property management and stadium catering specialist from Lucerne. The Pilatus Arena is being built in the Mattenhof district of Kriens and will host sporting occasions and other events. The arena has a maximum capacity of 4,500 spectators and is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2025. The interior construction phase is currently being carried out.
The project was launched in 2011 by Toni Bucher and Nick Christen, with Halter AG in charge of its development since 2018, as the press release explains. In November, Pilatus Arena Sports & Events AG (PASE) was founded. As the operating company, it will be responsible for the successful management of the arena.
The arena will serve as the new home of the handball team HC Kriens-Luzern. Beyond this, the focus will be on international matches, national finals, World and European Championships, concerts, corporate events and conferences, as well as school and university sports, as Halter writes in the press release. The operating company PASE will be responsible for the organization and marketing of these events in its role as general tenant of the arena.
“The fact that the Halter Group is now also taking over the operation of the Pilatus Arena is an ideal constellation. The cooperation between the partners is well-established and their skills complement each other perfectly”, comments Toni Bucher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pilatus Arena AG building company, in the press release
