EVTEC develops world innovations
Kriens LU - EVTEC has developed two innovative charging stations for electric cars. Together with Energie 360°, the company will present these two world premières at the Geneva International Motor Show from Thursday.
EVTEC has developed the worlds first station to charge with two 25-kilowatt DC connections, as Energie 360°, partner of EVTEC, reported in a press release. This charging station is one of two world premières that EVTEC and Energie 360° will be presenting at the Geneva International Motor Show from 7 to 17 March. The innovative charging station was developed "for the new generation of EVs powered by environmentally friendly DC technology". At these power split stations, older electric vehicles can also recharge at 22-kilowatt AC.
The second world première is the station sospeso&charge, which allows for bidirectional charging. This means an electric vehicle can not only be charged, but also be used as backup storage for solar power. For this, the charging station is integrated in the infrastructure of a building with a photovoltaic system. When needed, the charging station draws electricity from the car for other purposes. A smart energy meter makes it possible to manage the local energy distribution in real time. EVTEC and Energie 360° will show how the technology works with a Nissan EV 200 Evalia at the Motor Show.
Based in Kriens-Obernau, the experienced engineers at EVTEC AG develop turnkey products for charging infrastructure and accessories for electric vehicles. The company also advises its customers in the electromobility sector during conception, planning and prototyping.
