Distillerie Studer wins 17 accolades at Craft Spirits Awards

Escholzmatt-Marbach/Berlin - Distillerie Studer has received a gold medal for its Kandt Ginger Beer and bronze and silver for 15 other products at the Craft Spirits Awards in Berlin. Studer also gained the honor of being named one of the World's Best Craft Distilleries 2025.

Distillerie Studer has won a total of 17 accolades at the Craft Spirits Awards 2025. One of these is recognition as Craft Distillery of the Year 2025. This news was recently announced by the company. This honor is given to manufacturers who have won at least three gold medals over three years, thus proving their consistent quality.

This competition, which is the most important in Europe for handcrafted distilled spirits and alcohol-free alternatives, took place in Berlin. According to a press release from the event organizer concerning the winners, the products are judged by smell, taste, balance, and typicity. This was the 14th edition of the Craft Spirits Awards, which also serve as a springboard to the international market for small distilleries.

Jonathan Schönberger personally accepted the awards for Distillerie Studer in Berlin. He is the CEO of the family company established as a distillery, liquor and confectionary factory in 1883. In addition to the distillery of the year award, numerous products from Studer received gold, silver, and bronze medals.

Studer commented: «Out of the 16 products receiving an award, the gold medal for the newly launched Kandt Ginger Beer stands out in particular.» The jury noted: «In the nose, a fresh ginger aroma with mild notes of fruits. Notes of ginger-honey tea. Delicate ginger pungency on the palate, well complemented by aromas of herbs.»

The Oloroso Sherry Cask line also received special recognition. Three of these products were awarded silver: the Vieille Prune Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish, the Vieille Williams Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish, and the Vieil Abricot Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish. In addition to its production site in Escholzmatt-Marbach, Distillerie Studier has been operating the Brennpunkt in Lucerne’s historic center as a shop and event area.
