Emmi is the leading Swiss milk processor and one of the most innovative premium dairies in Europe. In Switzerland, the company focuses on the development, production and marketing of a full range of dairy and fresh products, as well as on the production, maturing and trading mainly of Swiss cheese. Outside Switzerland, Emmi focuses on established markets in Europe and North America with brand concepts and specialities, and increasingly also on developing markets outside Europe. In fresh products, the focus is on trends such as convenience, naturalness, sustainability and lifestyle. In cheese, Emmi is positioning itself as the world's leading company for Swiss cheese. Emmi's customers are the retail trade, the hotel and catering industry ("food service") and the food industry.
The Emmi Group includes around 25 production facilities of all sizes in Switzerland. Abroad, Emmi is present with its subsidiaries in 14 countries; in seven of them with production facilities. Emmi generated sales of CHF 3.5 billion in 2018. Emmi exports products from Switzerland to around 60 countries. The company employs just under 6100 people, 3200 of whom work in Switzerland.
